How do you best deal with the challenges in life? Many of us throw it under the rug, because, well I don’t know why really. When someone asks how we’ve been, the most cliche’ answer many of us give is “I’ve been doing my usual. Working. Staying out of the way.”
Or you’ve been ‘grinding’.
When in reality that’s just some non thought-out bs response to what you’ve really been doing. I’ve done this laziness before. I oftentimes catch myself and change the direction of my language. Your words can change ya life.
Forreals.
It’s been a while since my last blog. Honestly, didn’t intend for me to go almost 90 days. Without. One. Single. Blog Post.
But you know what they say, “Life gets in the way”…..
Which is true. This 90 day unplanned hiatus from blogging has allowed me to be more present in life and in my relationships with others. Although I write for a living, sometimes you need to allow yourself to take a break. I’ve experienced extreme sadness due to the death of a close loved one, experienced extreme success in my business AND corporate life, took plenty (and I do mean plenty) of Ls, yet I’ve elevated in a way I’ve never thought I could.
Truth is, you will always be working to get your sh*t together.
There is no final destination to having your shit together. Each level of your defined success requires a new level of you. Be mindful that it is perfectly okay to walk away from things that don’t serve you, enter into things you may not be 100% sure of, and take the time away you need to assess where your next steps are. This journey of life is completely yours.
One thing I’ve learned during this time is this: Be okay with YOUR life timeline, do not compare yourself to what everyone else is (seemingly) doing.
On the outside, we can be seen as killing the game, knocking one accomplishment after another, but down inside our ambition takes our wins for granted. We want to do better, be better.
So while you’re on this continuous journey of getting sh*t poppin, keep in mind these 3 things:
• You’re not in a rush. The Great Nipsey Hussle told us that it’s a Marathon. Treat your life as such. No one’s rushing but you, darling.
• Be open to change. We can have our lives planned to the T but sometimes our plans are wack and our Creator wants to elevate us to greater.
• Stay true to yourself. Always. The best way to navigate through this precious life is being real to yourself first, others second.
I’ll see you around, getting sh*t together 😌
Wow, I so needed to read this. I too took a little hiatus from my blog and I sista girl had to get the mind right. I am glad I found your blog though, hope to stay connected.
